I think in this recipe the butter might be what creates the flakes, as I have done it with only Crisco - and it never seems to be as flaky, although the taste isn't terribly different. Its interesting to use saran wrap, I might try that soon -- the flour always seems to give and the pie sticks. Never thought of that before!!

And Canada Lovely Deals ... thank you. As a mom of an allergy sufferer, and one who has to be conscious of my sugar intake I find its so much easier to eat worry-free if I have the nutrition info. And I LOVE this program (The Living Cookbook) because it does it for you! Hope you continue to enjoy!Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01047307681501777099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1765208193314434653.post-3618232504384123792011-08-15T01:03:54.347-04:002011-08-15T01:03:54.347-04:00Enticingly good and delicious! We'll have to compare how they taste sometime. My mom ALWAYS uses butter flavored Crisco, so I do too, but that's all I use--no butter or margarine. I also learned to use milk instead of water, even whole milk or cream if I have it. I think it's supposed to make the crust even flakier. I never flour the surface I roll it out on--instead I put the dough between two layers of saran wrap to roll it out. I'll have to try your recipe sometime soon. Now off to get my husband the piece of peach pie he asked for 10 minutes ago...Meganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08043696850005002329noreply@blogger.com
